The Wolfestone Group Attends ‘Big ION business Bash.’
November 12, 2019
The Wolfestone Group proudly attended the big ION business bash at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea on November 6
th to celebrate ION’s landmark 10 year anniversary. The itinerary was packed, with an inspirational welcome from Gary Walpole, a leadership activity, QA workshops, a keynote speech and ample opportunities for networking. Not to mention a fantastic lunch.
Wolfestone Group staff who represented the company with a stand found that the event was an excellent opportunity to discuss how ION’s leadership programme can shape real business success. Wolfestone discussed how the programme has proved instrumental in how we run our three businesses Wolfestone, VoiceBox and RLI.
Craig Alliss, head of sales, said this about attending the event: ‘‘ION has become an integral part of Wolfestone staff development, their innovative learning via experience programme has helped our management team learn new skills and allows the team to grow and develop from the same perspectives. It was great to join ION for its 10th birthday celebrations and share the experience with so many other businesses that have been through the same journey Wolfestone has been through.’’
Growing a network of future leaders
The ION leadership programme is led by a partnership between Swansea University and Bangor University, and backed with £3.7m from the European Social Fund to develop skillsets and drive productivity and turnover in both small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and larger companies.
Many senior Wolfestone Group employees have attended the ION leadership programme. Managing director Alex Parr attended as she gained her promotion into that role. She said that she used the ION leadership course as an opportunity ‘‘to improve her [my] confidence and learned new skills of managing managers.’’
