Wolfestone Translation, a leading language
translation company offering translation and
voiceover services across all languages, announce that they have become finalists in the Fast Growth 50 Awards 2011.
Wolfestone came 14th out of over 200,000 businesses in Wales and was the runner-up in the Business to Business Services category.
Since 1999, the Wales Fast Growth 50 research carried out by the University of Wales has been identifying the fifty fastest-growing businesses in Wales. The project is firmly established as one of the main barometers of entrepreneurship in the Welsh economy, providing the ultimate list of business successes that companies across Wales aspire to. To be recognised as one of the 50 fastest growing firms out of a Welsh business population of 200,000 is something which every entrepreneur who started and grew these businesses from nothing should be extremely proud of.
A detailed economic analysis of employment change amongst SMEs showed that whilst fast growth companies represented only 6 per cent of all UK firms employing ten or more people, they accounted for more than half the job growth in the UK. Last year, the 50 fastest growing firms in Wales created 1,400 new jobs and increased their sales by an incredible £305m in the middle of the worst recession since the 1920s.
Language translation services provider Wolfestone was runner up in the B2B category, based on the company’s incredible percentage growth of revenue from 2008 to 2010. The Finals for the awards took place in Cardiff on 16th September, 2011; where Wolfestone found out how they have fared in this year’s business climate.
Wales, like the rest of the UK, faces some serious economic challenges over the next few years. It will need to harness the entrepreneurial and innovative energies within our business community to make the most of every opportunity available to us. Wolfestone stands out as an exciting example of how Welsh business can flourish and grow.
Wolfestone Director Roy Allkin commented:
“The Fast Growth 50 project has served as the key gauge of success of entrepreneurship in Wales, and we are thoroughly delighted to have been included in such a prestigious and important event for businesses in this country. We believe that this achievement is yet another testament to the continued hard work of everyone at Wolfestone, and will continue to build upon our successes in the next year.”
