Update 06.04.14: We have added the video from the event at the bottom of this post.
On January 30th marketing leaders will be gathering in Swansea to discuss the future of Digital Marketing for Exporters in Wales.
The event, hosted by The Chartered Institute of Marketing and The West Wales Exporters Association features speakers from Wales’ largest language services provider Wolfestone, and DS Smith, Europe’s largest integrated packaging and recycling company operating in over 25 international markets.
Anna Bastek from Wolfestone will be speaking about practical export marketing tips. The company has helped thousands of businesses to succeed abroad, and the presentation includes practical tips on social and digital content in overseas markets. The business generates over 30% of its multi-million pound turnover from overseas customers.
Jade Tambini, Marketing Manager for the recycling division at DS Smith, will be talking about her experiences managing an international brand while ensuring local engagement. Her presentation includes tips on marketing tactics that work for her company in achieving revenue goals, to encourage other Welsh businesses to take their brand to new export markets.
Speaking ahead of the event CIM’s Director for Wales, Richard Houdmont, said:
“In the year to September 2013, of the four UK countries, Wales had the highest rate of decrease for exports. With economic forecasts showing relatively slow growth in the UK and indeed in the rest of Europe, we in Wales need to look further afield for growth. Digital marketing provides us with a global platform but as with traditional communication methods, there are legal and cultural minefields. Judicious use of SEO optimization and Pay per Click can greatly lower the barrier to entry into overseas markets, and this event will help exporters to maximize marketing ROI.”
The event is co-hosted by WWEA, which has been running in Swansea since 1994. The organisation hosts regular events on various topics and markets relating to exporting.
