Wolfestone is proud to announce that co-founder Roy Allkin has been awarded the prestigious Eichner Award for Outstanding Service by the Association of Translation Companies (ATC).
Presented during the ATC’s 50th anniversary year, the award recognises Roy’s longstanding contribution to the association and the wider language services industry.
Roy has played an active role within the ATC over many years. He currently serves as an ATC Council Member and previously was the youngest person ever to chair the association, a position through which he helped support the development of the organisation and the professional language services sector.
The recognition comes in a particularly significant year for the ATC as the association celebrates 50 years.
As well as receiving the award, Roy spoke at the ATC’s anniversary conference, reflecting on the past, present and future of translation. His presentation explored how the translation industry has developed and how it could look by 2030. Roy also considered the future role of human professionals as technology develops and what the ATC should focus on as it begins its next 50 years.
Commenting on the award, Roy Allkin said:
“It’s an honour to receive the Eichner Award, especially in the ATC’s 50th year. I’ve been involved with the association for a significant part of my life, from founding Wolfestone in 2006 to becoming the youngest-ever ATC Chair and continuing to serve on the Council today, so this recognition means a great deal to me.
“Our industry has changed enormously over that time and in recent years, and we’re now entering another interesting period of change.
“The ATC has been at the heart of the UK language services industry for 50 years. I’m incredibly proud to have played a part in its story and excited to see where the association and our industry as a whole go next.”
