Wolfestone celebrates double nomination at ATC Awards 2019
September 12, 2019
We are delighted to announce that Wolfestone Translation has been nominated for two ATC awards this year, Company of the Year and Translator of the Year.
Wolfestone CEO and British representative at the EUATC, Roy Allkin, said: “
It’s always a real honour to be put forward for an ATC award, so we’re doubly excited to have been shortlisted for two."
A gala dinner and award ceremony will take place on Thursday 19 of September where winners from an array of award categories related to the translation industry will be announced.
Considered one of the most important events in the industry calendar, the prestigious awards dinner will take place aboard the Cutty Sark.
On Wolfestone's nomination for the Company of the Year award, Managing Director, Alex Parr, explained: “It's a real pleasure to be in contention for such a sought-after award. Not only are we holding our own amidst the backdrop of Brexit, we’re currently doing even better than we did in our record-breaking 2018."
Talent translated into national recognition
The nominations list also sees Laurie Waters, our English Language Editor, shortlisted for the Translator of the Year award.
Chloë Driscoll, Operations Manager, said: "We are all thrilled that Laurie has been nominated for this award. She is always willing to go the extra mile not only for our clients but for her colleagues as well.
"This kind of recognition is hard-fought and well-deserved, so we wish her the best of luck!”
Born and bred in Llansamlet, a five-minute drive from our Swansea headquarters, Laurie first started working for Wolfestone two years ago, and has thrived at the company ever since.
"Ironically, I can't describe how excited I am to be shortlisted for this award," she said.
"But I wouldn’t have got this nomination, or where I am today for that matter, without my team. Their passion for what they do, and the clients they do it for, makes working with them a real joy."
ATC Awards and Language Industry Summit
Organised by the Association of Translation Companies, the annual Language Summit event sees the biggest names in the UK translation scene come together to discuss, debate and celebrate all things translation.
As part of the Summit, ATC member translation companies are invited to nominate those who have performed with distinction over the course of the last 12 months. There is a wide array of categories including Translator and Company of the Year, to name but a few.
This ATC Language Summit takes place between the 19 and 20 of September at Greenwich Old Royal Naval College. To find out more, visit
